^{the president hotel}

is a building that was housed at 727 tran hung dao in cholon.
it had the particularity of being huge, and in a very advanced state of disrepair.
when I photographed the site, half of these inhabitants had already left the place, it was at the end of 2013..

3 years later it was going to be destroyed..
This building was originally built to be rented to employees of the American army based in Saigon at the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s.
this building had the particularity of being the largest at that time
it had a night club and a swimming pool on the roof.

Unfortunately after the war, it was relocated by the locals and was not maintained as it should be.

‍

this is why after a life of only 40 years the building was destroyed, alas like many others in town..
photography inside was a funny experience, there was this long hallway strewn with mailboxes, and we arrived at the motorcycle parking lot, it was very dark there, daylight was almost non-existent.upstairs it was almost the same.
you could also find shops there, too..
hairdresser, tailors, grocer..

Films and music videos were often shot there.
I intend to publish a book on this incredible building for the 10 years of its destruction..
